Over 40 people from Talbot Marketing gathered just recently in downtown Toronto for their annual Sales Conference. The 3 day event was action packed and had something for everybody.
The event kicked off by attending PPPC's trade show in the Direct Energy Center at the Exhibition ground. Talbot Sales Partners and internal support staff visited 100's of booths reviewing 1,000's of products. This was a great opportunity to create new relationships with vendors and rekindle old ones. Also, it proved to be a valuable tool for touching and feeling the latest and newest products being offered to Promotional buyers.
After the show concluded the Talbot gang gathered in a downtown hotel for a day of meetings. Steve Levschuk, President/CEO of Talbot revealed the new Talbot Marketing website. With the assistance of Adell Haddock they reviewed the site and its functionality. The remainder of the morning was spent introducing the Talbot gang to the companies new ERP Computer System. Significant capital has been invested in developing the new system that will prove to be an invaluable resource to the Talbot Sales Partners and Talbot internal staff alike. The web based system is expected to be up and running at the conclusion of the first quarter in 09. The remainder of the day was spent in related sales discussions lead by George Brown, Ross Lloy, Danny Braunstein and Bernice Herman.
The day concluded with a gala Recognition Evening that celebrated the successes of a number of individuals in 2008. Steve Levschuk kicked off the evening by thanking everyone present for their selling time and perserverence. Because of the daily efforts of our Sales Partners Talbot is one of the premiere Promotional Advertising companies in Canada. The evening was a mixture of some serious commentary coupled with some good natured fun as new Sales Partners were "roasted" in front of the group. Levschuk announced the 2008 TOP 10 Sales Performers and the evening concluded with the announcement of the TOP 3. In third place was Ross Lloy - Halifax, second place, Danny Braunstein - Winnipeg, and first place, Linda Mah - Calgary. Levschuk noted Linda is the first female to win the overall sales title in Talbot's long sales history (since 1886)
