Here is something Talbot can use and the agents if they are doing a mailing.  I got it from a real estate agent who calls every few months to peddle my house.  You and I have been around long enough to know that referels are like money in the bank. When I get one its a sure sale. You may want to post this on the website in a blog or something. I don;t know quite how to do that since I just gave up my rotary phone.  LOL . John Hopman

 George's second approach to handling these specials is e-mailing selected ones out to specific customers who George thinks the offering will appeal to. George has booked a number of orders this way. Also, George notes, customers will e-mail him back saying I'm not interested in your current specials but can you get for me pricing on such and such. This is never a bad thing when a customer asks you for pricing on something.

Just a few thoughts from George. He hopes it helps you out. This approach has been successful for him.

08/23/09  Below are some thoughts from Bryce Smith.  He has been enjoying some good success with these products and wanted to share this information with everyone.

Just a couple of ideas that may help some, I have started to sell Carhartt which we now have the complete cat., not many promotional companies carry Carhartt and now we have the complete line including the FR items all of which we can sell on par or cheaper than retail as we get things at a A or more, on most items so any who deal in the construction and oil services, everyone wears Carhartt, now we can sell it embroidered so it becomes a tax deduction, we even have access to their jeans so it could be a big seller to us, as before they would only let us carry a few items, so far their deliver has been good.

Second item is the gelFast line it is a good line especially for the native health agencies a hand sanitizer that just clips on, with the swine flu scare on the reserves it may go very well.
Just a few ideas that I found work good as something new.

10/23/09  George Brown was just heading out the door but before he left he said Steve I need to share something with you.  My first thought was, George has been battling a cold all week, so I kept 1 foot pointed in the other direction.   He told me something new he has been doing and he has been having good success with it.  Normally George has all orders shipped directly to the customer.  The last couple weeks he has had a few sent to him.  George then takes the order and delivers it to the client  (George says, sales being the way they are, he has more time this year to do this)  While droping off the order George talks about other possible promotional ideas.  Just today he had a client ask him for a price on a jacket they did 3 years ago - it was a $4,000. order.  Another drop off client asked George to get them a price on a Holiday gift George presented.  If they order it will be a $3,000 order.  George says doing a few order drop offs gives you a reason to be infront of the customer.  Another reason for the client to see you and another opportunity for you to prersent a Promotional idea.
10/16/09 Cliff William form Dartmouth NS sent in a note saying he thinks Matsuda's  new arrangements with Swarovki Crystal could be a big success for the upcoming gift giving season.  He plans to show it to all his customers.  Here is a line from Cliff's note to me. 
MATSUDA has aligned themselves with Swarovski Crystal.
They have come out with their Glamorous Line and man is it ever nice.
Just wanted to bring your attention to this new product line incase you were not already aware of it.
09/26/09  I was just talking to George Brown and he shared with me something he is having a lot of success with right now. All the supplier specials that are coming through, George has started to spend more time and reviewing in greater detail each special and thinking who in his customer base will appreciate this particular special. After this George will do one of 2 things. If he thinks a certain product will appeal to a number of customers he will order in samples in various colours to appeal to the customers he has in mind. Having the sample in the companies' colour scheme is important George says. With the deeply discounted sales on right now he is having good success with this. Remember to have samples. Word of caution, use supplier who you know have a history of having deep inventories on the specials.

So, it’s a green product for those clients that ask for that.
